Pedigree Human
純種人 2013
interactive installation (cages, pedigree dogs, pedigree human)
"Pedigree Human" explores the issue of pedigree (purebred) dogs kept on display in pet shops around Taiwan. People's preferences of expensive pedigree dogs have raised several welfare issues, including the lack of genetic diversity and the rising rate of genetic diseases of these pure blood pets.
The installation was deployed in Taipei's main river park; local residence are welcomed to be caged along with the selected pedigree dogs and pedigree humans.
